Precious Plastic Margaret River is a passionate non-profit organisation based in Margaret River, Western Australia, dedicated to turning plastic waste into beautiful, functional, and long-lasting products.
Founded by Narelle Kuppers in 2018 after she witnessed plastic pollution threatening our pristine South West coastlines, we collect discarded bottle lids that can’t go into standard recycling and transform them into unique, handcrafted items right here in the region. Every piece is 100% recycled, made from locally diverted plastic waste, and designed to replace single-use items with something beautiful and permanent.
To date, we’ve diverted over 9 million plastic lids — that’s more than 18 tonnes of waste kept out of landfill and our oceans. Our growing collection includes practical everyday items such as hair combs, planters (small and large), tapas bowls and sets, wave soap trays and dishes, cheeseboards, keyrings, hex bowls, turtle trays, and more. Each product is carefully handmade, colourful, and built to last.
We proudly operate as part of the global Precious Plastic community, using open-source techniques to shred, melt, and mould plastic into high-quality artisanal goods. Beyond making products, we’re on a mission to educate and inspire. We work with schools, businesses, and community groups through workshops, presentations, and collaborations to promote a circular economy and reduce single-use plastic in the South West.
Whether you’re a local resident wanting to drop off your clean plastic lids, a business looking for sustainable merchandise, or someone who wants to buy meaningful, eco-friendly gifts and homewares, Precious Plastic Margaret River makes it easy to be part of the solution.
We believe small actions create big impact. By choosing our recycled products, you’re helping keep Margaret River’s coastlines clean, supporting local creativity, and contributing to a more sustainable future for our community.
