Mitu Wines Margaret River, South West WA

Right here in our beloved South West, Mitu Wines is pouring heart and soul into every bottle. Founded by Florence Drummond, a proud Saltwater Woman from the Torres Strait, this is one of Australia’s standout First Nations wine labels – built on connection, culture, and care for Country.

“Mitu” means “me and you” in Torres Strait Islander Creole. It’s that beautiful invitation to slow down, gather around good company, and share stories over something special. Florence brings her deep connection to the ocean and her healing journey on Wadandi Boodja to everything she creates, walking hand-in-hand with the Wadandi people while championing sustainability and the stunning terroir of Margaret River.

From tropical sea-country songlines to the ancient forests and coastal vines of the South West, Mitu Wines tells a story of resilience, renewal, and belonging. They partner with top local growers and winemakers to craft small-batch beauties that are premium, approachable, and full of character.

The current collection features premium, small-batch wines from the 2024 vintage, sourced from Wadandi Boodja:

  • Cabernet Sauvignon: A vibrant expression with notes of ripe mulberry, charred earth, and native emu plum, highlighting the power and freshness of Margaret River fruit.
  • Chenin Blanc: Fresh and expressive, reflecting the region’s astonishing biodiversity.
  • Sparkling Pinot Noir: A celebratory bubbly that captures the essence of connection and joy.

Mitu Wines is more than a label—it’s a tribute to Indigenous heritage, cultural bridges, and mindful enjoyment. The brand acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands and invites thoughtful appreciation, recognising the complex history of alcohol in First Nations communities.

Perfect for gatherings, conversations, and celebrating moments of togetherness, Mitu Wines brings soul, story, and songlines to every bottle. Discover this emerging gem in the Margaret River wine scene and support a business rooted in culture and Country.

Weave & Wine Event

Mitu Wines

We start in the gardens at @fair_harvest_permaculture (Margaret River) , learning about wild fibers. Then two unhurried hours at a long table with Cynamon of @wildartweaving_cynamonaeria, hand-weaving a basket from raffia and natural fibers. No experience needed. Just a willingness to sit down and take your time.

Then lunch — a seasonal spread from Fair Harvest’s own gardens with Indigenous foods by @koort_to_koort_creations_ The tasting begins alongside it from the Mitu Wines range.

You go home with the basket you made and the skills to keep weaving.
