Bunbury’s Favourite Local Pub Since 1880 – Where Heritage Meets Good Times

Proudly standing on Victoria Street since the gold-rush era, the Burlington Hotel is one of Bunbury’s oldest and most loved pubs. With its classic red-brick façade, wide verandas, and unmistakable South West charm, the “Burlo” has been the heartbeat of the city for over 140 years – a true icon that locals simply call home.

Step inside and you’re greeted by warm timber floors, friendly faces, and an atmosphere that feels like catching up with mates you haven’t seen in years. Whether you’re after an ice-cold pint after work, a hearty pub feed with the family, or a big night out watching the footy, the Burlington delivers every time. And for those looking to extend their stay, the Burlington offers cozy heritage-style accommodation right above the action – perfect for travellers wanting to wake up to the buzz of Bunbury without venturing far.

Accommodation at the Burlo

True to its historic roots, the Burlington features a fully renovated classic pub rooms upstairs, blending old-world charm with modern comforts. Each room is clean, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed with queen-sized beds, crisp linen, air-conditioning, tea/coffee facilities, and private ensuites. Whether you’re a solo explorer, couple on a weekend getaway, or road-trippers needing a pit stop, these rooms provide a comfortable base to unwind after a day at the beach or exploring the South West trails. Rates are wallet-friendly, starting from affordable nightly deals, and include easy access to the pub’s facilities downstairs. Booking is straightforward – give the team a call or check the website for availability. It’s the ideal spot for those who love the lively hum of a local pub but crave a quiet night’s sleep.

The Bar – The Heart of the Burlo

The main bar is a proper old-school Australian pub bar: long, polished timber tops, stools that have heard a thousand stories, and ice-cold beer flowing from 18 taps. You’ll find all the classics on pour – Carlton Draught, Swan Draught, VB, Pure Blonde, Great Northern, Hahn Super Dry, Guinness, Kilkenny, and a solid lineup of local and interstate craft beers that change regularly (think Frog Island, Rocky Ridge, Beerfarm, and seasonal drops from Cheeky Monkey and Black Brewing Co.).

Prefer something lighter? There’s a big range of ready-to-drink spirits, ginger beer, and hard solos straight from the fridge. The spirits shelf is well stocked with all the favourites plus a growing collection of WA gins and whiskies for those who like a little South West in their glass.

Happy Hour runs every day from 4–6 PM with $6 pints and house spirits keeping the after-work crowd smiling. On weekends the bar stays pumping late, with bar staff who know your name and your usual before you even reach the counter.

In addition to the original classic Australian Front Bar, The Burlington Hotel also consists of Bar 51 – Bar and Restaurant, and Indi Bar, a late night music venue for all ages.
