With our official launch just weeks away, we’re thrilled to finally introduce the people behind Looksi — your new go-to local directory and community platform for the South West of Western Australia.

Hi, I’m Holly, and this is my husband Mark. Together, we are Team Looksi.

Looksi isn’t about us — it’s about you. It’s about making it easier for locals, visitors, and businesses to connect in one of the most beautiful regions in Australia. From Bunbury to Margaret River, Busselton to Denmark, we’re here to help South West businesses get found and help you discover the incredible people, places, and services that make this region special.

Who We Are

Holly: Bunbury Born, South West Through and Through I grew up in Bunbury surrounded by farms, animals, and creativity. Entrepreneurship has been part of my life since I was ten — when I started making jewellery and selling it at local markets.

Over the years I’ve built and run several small businesses in WA, including an indoor plant and gift shop, a pet treat brand, and most recently, stepping into authorship. I’ve worked in vineyards, floristry, hospitality, retail, and management — but my real passion has always been creating brands from the ground up and helping other small business owners succeed.

I know firsthand the resilience, creativity, and sheer determination it takes to run a small business in regional Western Australia. That’s exactly why Looksi exists.

Mark: From Perth to Hamelin Bay, Built on Grit Mark was born in the UK and moved to Australia as a child. He grew up in Perth, spending weekends bodyboarding down south. Today, we live in beautiful Hamelin Bay, right next to the Boranup Forest.

Mark started his career as a mechanical fitter apprentice before moving into commissioning and web-based solutions for global mining companies. He’s worked FIFO, travelled across Australia, and built his career through hard work and determination — the same kind of hard work so many South West business owners know well.

Our Life in the South West

We feel incredibly fortunate to call the South West home. Our days are filled with gardening, looking after our animals (ducks, bunnies, and sheep), exploring beaches and forests, walking our dog Moose, and enjoying the fantastic local food and wine scene (Mark’s a bold red kind of guy — I’m Team Chardonnay).

This lifestyle — the connection, the community, and the genuine sense of place — is what inspired us to create Looksi.

Why We Created Looksi

We remember the early days of the internet: simple, personal, and community-focused. Today, it feels noisy, corporate, and algorithm-driven. Small businesses — especially in regional areas — are getting lost.

After moving down south full-time, we watched too many much-loved local businesses close their doors, not because they lacked quality or passion, but because they weren’t visible. Many owners aren’t tech experts, don’t enjoy social media, and don’t have time for constant digital marketing — nor should they have to.

So we built Looksi: a genuine, community-powered local directory designed to cut through the noise and give South West businesses a real chance to be seen.

Our mission is simple:
